Battle of Lynchburg Driving Tour
This tour guides you to many of Lynchburg's Civil War sites along a seven mile route. An audio version of the tour, narrated by Civil War historian Dr. James I. Robertson Jr., is available for purchase on the Historic Sandusky website, several Lynchburg retail outlets and the Lynchburg Visitor Center.

Coming from the North:
Using Rt. 29, continue on 29 bypass around the city. When 29 South veers off to the left just shortly after the Candlers Mt. exits, continue straight on 501 North to exit 1OA 460 East Business Fort Ave. Bear right through the yield at the end of the exit ramp, but get into the left lane. Go three stoplights (1/2 mile) and make a left onto Sandusky Dr. Sandusky is dead ahead at the crossroads, 1/3 mile down Sandusky Dr.
Coming from the South:
Using Rt. 29. After you pass River Ridge Mall, be in the right lane and take the 29 Business North, 501 South exit. Continue straight on 501 North to exit 1OA 460 East Business Fort Ave. Bear right through the yield at the end of the exit ramp but get into the left lane. Go three stoplights (1/2 mile) and make a left onto Sandusky Dr. Sandusky is dead ahead at the crossroads, 1/3 mile down Sandusky Dr.
Coming from East or West on 460:
Take the 501 Candlers Mt. Rd. Buena Vista exit Go through 2 stoplights and from the right lane take the 29 South, 501 North exit. Continue straight on 501 North to exit 1OA 460 East Business, Fort Ave. Bear right through the yield at the end of the exit ramp but get into the left lane. Go three stoplights (1/2 mile) and make a left onto Sandusky Dr. Sandusky is dead ahead at the crossroads,1/3 mile down Sandusky Dr.
