Spring Hill Cemetery
Founded in 1854, Spring Hill became the final resting place for many Lynchburg Confederate notables. General Jubal Early, who resided in Lynchburg following the war until his death in 1892, is buried at the highest point in the back of the cemetery. Generals James Dearing and Thomas Munford, and Colonel Kirkwood Otey, commander of Lynchburg’s 11th Virginia Infantry, are buried among the circles and winding roads. Open dawn to dusk.
300 Fort Avenue.
